Balboa Park 1920's Inspired Elopement Flowers

Updated: Jan 15, 2021

If there's one trend in the flower world right now that I can hop on board with, it would be Neutrals. I love the elegant and romantic look that a neutral floral palette creates, especially in this inspiration shoot at Balboa Park!

Our photographer Mandy Ford, wanted this shoot to be inspired by the architecture in the park and have a 1920's feel to it. Our Bride and Groom were dressed in elegant, sleek, black tie outfits, and we played off the colors of the buildings for the flowers.

I always like to take the venue into consideration when creating flower arrangements. I like to make my work look "site specific", or in other words I like for it to feel in place in its surroundings. This can be done with color, flower choices, or even the vibe of a venue. For instance, if you're getting married outside in the woods amongst the trees, I wouldn't necessarily recommend we chose tropical flowers, they just wouldn't make sense in their surroundings.

So to keep things cohesive we used pops of black with primarily white flowers and an accent of peach to keep things lush and lots of texture so the bouquet didn't fall flat. The result was this classy, yet whimsical bouquet filled with garden roses, lisianthus, spray roses, butterfly ranunculus, spirea and privet berry.

Tip: Peach acts as a great neutral.

Balboa Park is such a beautiful place to elope! If you need flowers be sure to check out our Elopement Floral Packages!

Peace, Love, and Flowers my Friends!
