There’s something about getting married with the Pacific Ocean in the background that just feels quintessentially Southern California. The views are beautiful on their own, but the right floral design can make an oceanfront wedding feel even more personal, romantic, and unforgettable.
As a San Diego wedding florist, these are a few of our favorite coastal venues to design weddings at and why we think they’re especially beautiful places to say “I do.”
The Seabird | Oceanside
The Seabird is a coastal resort in the heart of Oceanside, just steps from the beach and pier.

Why we love it for weddings
If you're planning a wedding weekend rather than just a wedding day, The Seabird is a great choice. Guests can stay on property, enjoy the resort, walk to the beach, and turn your wedding into a full Southern California getaway.
We especially love it for couples who want their wedding to feel polished but relaxed. It has that California coastal feeling without requiring you to commit to a traditional "beach wedding."
Why we love the flowers here
The Seabird is a great canvas for florals because you can take the design in so many directions.
We're partial to arrangements that feel effortlessly abundant and organic, lots of movement, interesting textures, and seasonal blooms rather than anything too stiff or overly coordinated.
And because there are so many opportunities for guests to experience the property, you can carry your floral story throughout the weekend from the ceremony to cocktail hour, reception..
Scripps Seaside Forum | La Jolla
Perched above La Jolla Shores, Scripps Seaside Forum offers a modern setting with expansive Pacific Ocean views.

Why we love it for weddings
Scripps is one of those venues where you don't need to overdo it. The ocean is the backdrop, the architecture is clean and understated, and that gives your flowers room to make an impact without competing with the scenery.
Since you're practically in the sand, we love the idea of using florals to accent the view rather than block it think a grounded ceremony arrangements, low meadow-inspired designs, or a statement installation that draws your eye toward the ocean.
It's also a fantastic venue for couples who want a wedding that feels unmistakably San Diego, especially if you use the lawn for both ceremony and reception so you get the view of the ocean and pier all night!
Why we love the flowers here
The clean architecture gives you so much freedom, but it also works beautifully for a true beach-in-the-sand setup. You can lean into soft, wind-friendly blooms and relaxed, natural textures that hold up in the coastal breeze, or still take it in a more sculptural, editorial direction if you want contrast against the shoreline.
And because the ocean does so much of the visual work, your floral budget can be focused on a few really intentional statement pieces rather than trying to fill every inch of the venue.
Alila Marea | Encinitas
Alila Marea sits above the Pacific in Encinitas and pairs dramatic coastal views with modern, understated architecture.

Why we love it for weddings
This venue is for the couple who wants their wedding to feel luxurious, intentional, and modern.
The setting is naturally dramatic, so there isn't a need to add a lot just for the sake of filling space. Instead, we love using florals strategically to create moments that feel incredibly special while allowing the coastline to remain part of the design.
It's also an amazing choice if you're drawn to a more editorial wedding aesthetic.
Why we love the flowers here
Alila Marea is basically made for sculptural floral design.
Think large-scale arrangements with movement, unusual floral varieties, soft neutral palettes, and installations that feel like they're growing naturally into the architecture.
This is one of those venues where a few really well-designed floral moments can have a much bigger impact.
Our favorite approach? Keep the palette sophisticated, embrace negative space, frame the view, and let the flowers feel a little unexpected.
La Valencia | La Jolla
Known as La Jolla's iconic "Pink Lady," La Valencia combines historic charm, romantic architecture, and beautiful views overlooking the Pacific.

Why we love it for weddings
If your wedding inspiration board leans romantic, European, timeless, and a little bit glamorous, La Valencia is hard to beat.
Unlike some of the more modern coastal venues, La Valencia already has a strong personality. Your flowers don't need to create the atmosphere they get to enhance what's already there.
It's especially beautiful for couples who want their wedding to feel like a destination without actually leaving San Diego.
Why we love the flowers here
This is where we want to embrace the romance.
Lush garden-inspired arrangements, trailing flowers, delicate blooms, abundant bouquets, and soft, layered color palettes all feel right at home here.
We love the idea of creating floral designs that feel slightly old-world and garden-inspired, while still incorporating unexpected seasonal flowers to keep the look from feeling too traditional.
And because the property is so visually interesting, you can create beautiful floral moments in multiple areas without needing to completely transform the venue.
Ole Hanson Beach Club | San Clemente
Ole Hanson Beach Club is a historic Spanish Revival venue overlooking the Pacific in San Clemente, with beautiful architecture and classic California charm. While it's not in San Diego, it's just on the other side of Camp Pendleton and I couldn't resist including it.

Why we love it for weddings
This one is for the couple who wants their wedding to feel fun, romantic, and distinctly California.
It's not just an ocean view, it has personality. The architecture, tile, greenery, and coastal setting give you so much to work with, which means your wedding can feel incredibly layered and intentional without needing to bring in a ton of décor.
We also love that it feels more like a beautiful private estate than a traditional wedding venue.
Why we love the flowers here
Ole Hanson is the perfect place to embrace timeless white florals.
Instead of trying to match everything perfectly, we'd lean into the existing architecture with an all-white and ivory floral palette that highlights the warm Spanish Revival details.
Imagine a ceremony filled with flowers that feel like they're growing naturally from the landscape, soft white centerpieces that complement the architecture, and a bridal bouquet overflowing with layered textures in creamy, tonal whites.
The result? Romantic, elegant, and completely timeless California.
So... Which One Is Your Favorite?
While all five of these venues have incredible ocean views, they each have a completely different personality and that's what we love about designing weddings.
The best part about designing flowers for oceanfront weddings is that we don't have to compete with the view. We get to enhance it.
Our goal is always to create floral designs that feel like they belong in the space while still feeling completely you.
And because beautiful flowers don't need to come at the expense of the planet, all of our wedding designs are created 100% foam-free, using reusable mechanics and thoughtful techniques that allow us to create everything from intimate centerpieces to large-scale installations without traditional floral foam.
Planning an ocean view wedding in Southern California?
We'd love to hear what you're dreaming up.
Peace, love and flowers friends!
