Dreamy Muted Pastel Ceremony Flowers for a Summer Wedding at Trademark's Botanica

When it comes to Summer weddings, nothing exudes elegance quite like a palette of muted pastels. These soft, romantic tones bring a timeless beauty that perfectly complements the warmth and vibrance of the season. Recently, we had the pleasure of designing breathtaking ceremony flowers for a Summer wedding at Botanica, one of San Diego’s most stunning garden venues.

For this wedding, we leaned into a dreamy mix of blush pinks, dusty peaches, creamy ivories, and pale yellow and blue tones, with hints of muted greenery to add depth. The result? A color palette that felt effortlessly sophisticated and perfectly in harmony with the lush, natural surroundings of Botanica.

The bride’s vision for the wedding flowers was inspired by the bridesmaids' mix-and-match dresses. Each dress featured a unique pastel shade, creating a harmonious yet varied look. We pulled the color palette for the floral arrangements directly from these dresses, ensuring a seamless aesthetic that tied every detail together. The effect was stunning, as the bridesmaids' attire complemented not only each other but also the dreamy florals throughout the ceremony space.

The bride’s bouquet was nothing short of extraordinary. Designed to reflect her bold yet romantic style, it featured cascading strands of amaranthus paired with locally sourced blooms, including phlox, honeysuckle, and alcalthaea parkallee. The bouquet’s loose, organic shape gave it a whimsical feel, while the trailing amaranthus added a touch of drama. It was a true statement piece that perfectly complemented the bride's radiant beauty.

But the ceremony Chuppah was for sure the showstopper of the day. Designed with a foam-free structure to honor sustainability, the arrangement featured roses, delphinium, lisianthus, and delicate sedum and tweedia blooms intertwined with dripping amaranthus and foliage. The design created a whimsical, organic feel, framing the couple beautifully while blending seamlessly into the venue’s natural landscape.

Muted pastel tones are such an ideal choice for Summer weddings because they evoke a sense of lightness and romance. While I still love brighter, bolder hues, these muted colors allow the natural beauty of the venue to shine while still creating an impactful visual statement. Botanica offers a serene garden setting that perfectly complements soft floral designs. With its sprawling greenery and intimate atmosphere, it provided the perfect backdrop for this couple’s pastel-inspired celebration.

"Kelly was an absolute joy to work with and one of the best vendor decisions I made for my wedding day. From the very start, she created a gorgeous mood board based on my Pinterest and ideas that I had sent her. She also helped me source the gorgeous birch chuppah that we used through another company that she works with which made things so easy for us. She’s incredibly professional, quick to respond, full of amazing ideas, and insanely talented. She answered all of my questions promptly and when I asked her for advice on a few things I was still deciding on, she helped me make every decision and offered suggestions that I hadn’t even thought of myself. When she showed me my bridal bouquet, it was truly everything I had dreamed of any more. Then I saw the florals on the chuppah and I knew I had made the right choice with Kelly, it was absolutely STUNNING! Everything just took my breath away..."
