In 2025, we're moving away from the traditional arch designs that have dominated ceremony backdrops for years. Couples are embracing more unique and personalized locations within their venues to exchange vows, often opting for spaces that feel organic and connected to the environment. I predict we'll see a rise in site-specific floral installations that look as though the flowers naturally grew right from the ground, blending seamlessly with their surroundings. For example, like you see here in these florals from Monserate Winery, we built the ceremony installation in the courtyard to embrace the romantic Tuscan vibe. This ceremony location felt more intimate, perfectly complementing the couple’s vision and the venue’s charm.

2.) Floral Blocked Designs

In recent years, "meadowy" flower arrangements have been a popular trend. These designs feature small, delicate blooms arranged to resemble a wildflower meadow. However, I predict that this year, "flower-blocked" arrangements will rise in popularity. What does "flower-blocked" mean? It refers to clustering flowers of the same variety together within an arrangement, creating bold, impactful focal points instead of spreading different varieties evenly throughout the design. I love this look and for the past few years have designed this way in my smaller arrangements, like the centerpieces you see below, but can't wait to use it and see it in large scale installs like above! I think it will be even more impactful with colorful palettes so can't wait.

3.) Flower Filled Micro Weddings

We’re seeing a continued rise in micro weddings, driven in part by the increasing cost of larger celebrations. Many couples are opting for smaller, more intimate gatherings that focus on quality over quantity. With fewer guests, budgets can be reallocated to elevate other aspects of the day—especially florals. This shift allows couples to bring their elaborate floral dreams to life, with lush, detailed installations and intricate designs that might not have been feasible for a larger event. From abundant tablescapes to dramatic ceremony backdrops, micro weddings are proving that less can truly be more when it comes to creating a stunning and memorable celebration.

Sustainability continues to be a major focus in 2025, with more couples prioritizing eco-friendly options for their wedding florals. One of the most significant trends is the use of locally grown blooms, which not only reduce the carbon footprint of floral transportation but also celebrate the natural beauty of the region. This trend may gain even more momentum if trade policies shift, such as potential changes to import tariffs under Trump’s leadership, which could make imported blooms less accessible or cost-effective.
